About Me

I’m Jeannette, the passionate educator and psychologist behind Connections LEP. Over the past eleven years, I have worked as a School Psychologist and Program Specialist within Bay Area school districts, conducting psycho-educational assessments in English and Spanish, providing individual counseling services, running student groups around social skills support, providing in-service trainings for teachers and support staff, and serving on intervention teams. When I am not working, you will most likely find me running around the soccer field, hiking or at the beach with my three young boys.

I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in both Psychology and Spanish Studies from Santa Clara University. While attending Santa Clara, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Seville, Spain. In Seville, I took courses on the psychology behind learning a second language and had the opportunity to volunteer within an elementary school, supporting students learning a second language.

I received my Masters of Science Degree from San Francisco State University and hold Pupil Personnel Services Credentials in School Psychology and School Counseling. While earning my master’s degree, I conducted research with doctoral students in the UC Berkeley’s Educational Psychology program for two years.

About Connections LEP

This is an ever evolving practice, incorporating the most up to date, evidence based practices, with resources and supports to offer learners. I honor the privilege to get to know each student I work with, individually, in order to truly tailor an action plan that best fits their learning profile,

The idea behind Connections LEP came to me while working in the public school system and realizing how important the many different connections there are that play into a learner’s success, both academically and emotionally. Meaningful connections can lead to higher self-esteem and self-worth. Understanding how a student’s own brain functions/how they learn is connected to independence, by being able to advocate for their own needs at school or at work. As part of my private practice, I encourage connections between learners, their family, school and community as I find that it empowers them and creates a more intentional learning experience. I am passionate about facilitating these connections as part of my practice.
